Information for referrers

We work with adolescents from age 12 and adults, including people with complex and acute presentations. Common reasons for referral include:

• Anxiety, depression and mood difficulties
• Stress, burnout and workplace difficulties
• Trauma and post-traumatic stress, including complex trauma
• ADHD and autism in teenagers and adults
• Adjustment to illness, injury, separation or job loss
• Grief and bereavement
• Alcohol and substance use, and gambling
• Relationship, self-esteem and performance concerns

Our psychologists are registered with AHPRA and draw on approaches with strong research support, including CBT, ACT, DBT and EMDR. If you are not sure whether a referral is a good fit, get in touch, and we will let you know honestly.

Alongside individual therapy, we provide psychological and functional capacity assessments, and we prepare clear, practical reports written for the people who need to read them. This includes diagnostic and cognitive functioning assessments and reports for the NDIS, workers' compensation, GPs and legal referrers. Tell us what decision the report needs to support and we will scope it with you.

A GP referral is not required for a client to see us privately. If your patient has a Mental Health Treatment Plan, they may be eligible for a Medicare rebate on a set number of sessions. We keep you informed in line with the Better Access requirements, providing correspondence after the initial sessions and at review, unless your patient asks us not to. We welcome referrals from psychiatrists and other treating practitioners, including for co-management alongside your care. We are comfortable working with complex and acute presentations, paired with honest consideration of general clinical fit and the supports a client has around them. We can provide assessment and reporting to inform diagnosis and treatment planning, and we will coordinate with you as much as your patient consents to.

We work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. Psychology often sits under capacity-building supports, and we provide therapy, psychological and functional capacity assessments, and reports to support planning and reviews. We invoice in line with NDIS requirements so you or your plan manager can claim against the participant's plan. • Reason for referral and any relevant history
• Funding pathway (Medicare Mental Health Treatment Plan, NDIS, workers' compensation claim details, DVA, EAP or private)
• Any reports or correspondence that would help us prepare
