Medicare Rebates
If you are struggling with your mental health, you may be able to see a psychologist with a Medicare rebate. With a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you can claim a rebate on part of your session fee. ABC Psychology works with clients using Medicare rebates, with appointments on the Sunshine Coast and Australia-wide by telehealth.
What is a Mental Health Treatment Plan
A Mental Health Treatment Plan is prepared by your GP. It sets out what you would like support with and refers you to a psychologist. With a plan in place, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate for up to 10 individual sessions each calendar year.
How the rebates work
Rebate amounts are set by Medicare and updated each July. We will confirm the current rebate and your exact out-of-pocket cost before your first appointment, so there are no surprises. Full details of fees and payment are on our Fees and Funding page.
